Say “No” to “Bounce Back” Culture
Let’s stop pretending that not “bouncing back” in postpartum means you are “lazy” and “letting yourself go”.
Okay, can we be honest for a second?
This idea that if you don’t “bounce back” after having a baby, you’re somehow lazy or “letting yourself go”…
It is one of the biggest lies postpartum women are sold.
Your body literally expanded bones, ligaments, organs, blood volume — everything — to create a human being.
And then we’re expected to go right back to looking like that never happened?
That’s not realistic.
That’s not healthy.
And it’s definitely not a reflection of your character.
Not shrinking after birth doesn’t mean you’ve lost discipline.
It means your body is healing.
It means your priorities have shifted.
It means you’re living in a season where nourishment, bonding, sleep, and recovery matter more than aesthetics.
You’re not “letting yourself go.”
You’re letting yourself be human. While raising a brand new human.
And that is not something to apologize for.
